Your legacy matters 1892 LEGACY SOCIETY A GIFT TO FUTURE GENERATIONS
The 1892 Legacy Society has been established to acknowledge the Historical Society's friends — like Susan Van Wieren who has named the Charlevoix Historical Society as a beneficiary in her estate plan. Through future estate gifts members of this special Society, much the same as Susan, will ensure the future well-being of the Historical Society. The year 1892 is a significant part of the Historical Society's own legacy. This is the year that both the Train Depot and the Harsha House were built! And, it is these structures that are worth preserving. The Historical Society has been around since 1879, and continues to contribute to the culture and lifestyle we all enjoy in Charlevoix— by preserving our history and most treasured icons: an extensive collection of historic photos, the Train Depot, the Museum at Harsha House and the South Pier Lighthouse. OUR MISSION Enriching Charlevoix culture through preservation, education and engaging experiences celebrating our history We are pleased to announce the charter members of the 1892 Legacy Society: Steve and Marsha Braun Denise Fate Jon B. and Lisa Mower Gandelot Craig and Debbie Mann David Miles Barry and Karen Pierce Alvin* and Patsy Ranger Susan Van Wieren *Legacies we remember in honor of those who have passed away are marked with an asterisk . ~ Susan Van Wieren ~ Acknowledging friends PRESERVING HISTORY “It is my intent to leave a bequest to the Historical Society so that its mission to preserve our history will continue with solid financial support”
