The Charlevoix Historical Society is very pleased to announce the release of a brand new book which tells the complete story of Earl A. Young, one of Charlevoix’s most recognized figures of the 20th century. The legacy of the renowned builder in stone grows every year along with appreciation for his visionary boulder homes and structures.

The 171-page book is fully illustrated with almost 400 photos. Many are striking color shots by photographer Mike Barton not previously used in his books on the mushroom houses of Charlevoix.  The biography also includes many vintage photos and Charlevoix area scenes from the deep archived collection of the Charlevoix Historical Society.  The text is written by Society curator and historian David L. Miles.   Miles worked with a team of volunteer members of the Historical Society and Society Manager Trevor Dotson throughout 2019 to compile and edit the book.
