Our neighbors in Antrim County, the Elk Rapids Area Historical Society, will be holding cemetery walks with performers in period clothing telling the stories of some of the men and women laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery. The walks will be on September 20 and 21 in the Elk Rapids Maple Grove cemetery. There will be 10, 90-minute walks. There will be a separate indoor performance on September 24 at the Historic Elk Rapids Township Hall (HERTH) on River Street. The tickets are only $20.![]()

It has been a busy summer here at the Charlevoix Historical Society, and Curator David L. Miles' Looking Back writings had to be put on hold, but we're back with a new edition that gives the history of his father, Bob Miles' Photograph Collection at the Charlevoix Historical Society. Not only was Bob Miles a local photographer himself, but he also collected and even saved some images from being destroyed.
